アロマオイルトリートメントを習い始めたころ、お客様から手を出来る限り離さないように・・と言われました。常に触れて、安心感を与えることが大切です、と。
実際、受けているときに手を離されると、何やってんだろう？と気になったり、一人にされた感があったので、この話はもっともだな、と思っていました。
ところが、昨年、施術中に手を離すことも大切、と教わりました。
お客様は手で触れられている部分に意識がいきがちです。
触れられていることで、セラピストの手から情報を得ているともいえます。
それは、心地のよいものですが、ずっと触れられている一点に意識がいくと、心身の変化や身体全体を感じづらくなり、また、常に「そこ」に集中してしまうので頭を使っている状態にもなり得ます。
施術を受けているときに、こんなことがよくありました。
セラピストがホットタオルを取りに行くために手を離した時、うつ伏せから仰向けになってセラビストがオイルを取りにいっている時、自身の意識が遠く離れていたのです。
情報を他者から得ない時、自分を開放したり、自分に入っていったりするものだな、と感じたのです。
施術者としては、時々手を離すことで、自身の中心を感じ、安定した施術を続けられます。もちろん、手を離すタイミングや方法は大切で、お客様に不安感を与えるようなやり方は避けるべきですし、施術中、心は常にお客様のところにあるべきです。
その上で「手を離す」、この時間をお客様と共有したいと思うようになりました。
受け手としては、手を離された時、セラピストは何をしているんだろう？と自分以外に意識を向けるのではなく、身体を感じてみたり、ぼーっとなったり・・そんなことで心にも身体にも変化が訪れるのを感じるようになったことは、ここ１年の収穫です。（芹澤）
